Description
The factory rear shock mounts are sufficient for 2.5″ remote reservoir shocks. Once valving starts to stack upor larger than 2.5″ shocks are installed, the driver’s side upper rear shock mount’s inability to handle the loadshould be addressed. Fully boxed and welded 3/16″ cold-rolled steel construction ensures the mount is strongerthan the crossmember to which you’ll be welding it. Triangulation of the Carli driver shock mount, crossmember,and frame rail is also recommended.
The passenger side shock mount has always been sufficient, but removing the bed and prepping for weld is alabor-intensive process. We designed and fabricated a matching mount to weld on the passenger side for cheapinsurance. This mount requires no additional triangulation or gusseting.
